Responses: A Diaspora Tour

Responses: A Diaspora Tour is a performative exploration of selected sculptures by Asian diasporic artists from the Storm King collection. Led by Zavé Martohardjono with research collaboration from Lily Bo Shapiro, Responses will reveal and respond to the concepts, process, and geopolitical context of each work, as well as the biography of its maker. Reading beyond the “facts” offered in formal writings, the Responses artists consider histories of anti-immigrant and anti-refugee backlash and dig into perspective, experience, politics, and subtext, evident or invisible, within each work visited.
